As a mom of four, I've read more than my share of parenting books. "Feeding the Mouth That Bites You" is a book that stands out among them all.
This is the first time I’ve read a book that lays out a plan so specifically to give my teen freedoms in a logical order. As a parent in the thick of it, I sometimes feel that EVERYTHING is important. I don’t want to let any of the “control” go. I now realize that I don’t have as much control as l’d thought. I have a lot of freedoms I need to hand over to my kids and give them the responsibility and consequences that follow. By not giving those freedoms, I’m also shouldering far more responsibility and work than I should be. I have to remind myself that the goal is to work myself out of a job! This book is excellent and I've recommended it to all of my friends who are parenting pre-teens and teens

I HIGHLY recommend this book. It revolutionized my approach to parenting my teen and I have already experienced positive results. Wilgus explains why children radically change when they turn 13, and he outlines specific ways to guide them into being adults, not just grown-up kids. This knowledge has empowered me to parent with confidence, eliminating much conflict and battles of the will. This book is a MUST read for every parent.
